Dont you have a show desktop icon in the right side of the taskbar? It does not have an icon, its just a taskbar narrow zone right in the border.

Free Tool: Subnet Calculator

The subnet calculator helps you design networks by taking an IP address and network mask and returning information such as network, broadcast address, and host range.

One of a set of tools we're offering as a way of saying thank you for being a part of the community.

As the previous expert indicated, Windows 7's "Show Desktop" feature is now just a little vertical bar at the very right hand side of the task bar. If you hover over it, it will show you the desktop without switching to it. If you click on it, then it will switch to the desktop.

However, if for some reason you really want the classic icon, you can do a search for it in the start menu, then copy the short cut. You can't pin it to the task bar without first re-enabling the old classic quick launch toolbar. But I wouldn't recommend this... if you can get used to just clicking on the lower right hand of the task bar, you really won't miss the old icon.

gatekeeper6838,
You are rather new to EE. It would be wise if you read the guidelines on how to answer the questions:

Sometime it puzzles me over the criteria used to distribute the points.

enriquecadalso .....
It is totally unfair. Your answer is the only correct answer. My guess is that Knowledgeable did not realize what you were explaining...
I have already submitted an objection to this solution. Neither gatekeeper6838 nor I deserve the points assigned. A moderator will review this issue....

BitsBytesand and enriquecadalso. My bad. I can see how that might be rude and go against guidelines. I was simply trying to elaborate on the fact that the new button was easier to use than the desktop shortcut. I apologize and if there is any way for a moderator to redistribute points, I won't have any problem with it.

Gatekeeper6838 and BitsBytesand, dont worry for the points, no offense is taken. I agree with you that sometimes an image is more important than a thousand words.

Users asking questions here are not experts so they are bound to make mistakes, I think we should not blame them if they not fully understand how to proceed in every case, that's why we are here.

gatekeeper6838: my bad as well ..... I have seen so many experienced users being rude in the last few days that I did not consider that in your case being a newer member, I should have allowed you some consideration and just pointed you to the link instead of lashing out at you the way I did.
My deepest and most sincere apologies. Really. It is not your fault that I was upset at other experienced users misbehaving...
