What performs better?  2 x RAID1 or 1 x RAID5 (RAID6?)

What performs better?  2 x RAID1 or 1 x RAID5 (RAID6?)

Trying to configure a new server.  Ideally, I like doing RAID1 + RAID5 with hot spare (6 drives total).  New lower end chassis has room for 4 drives max.

Anybody with experience here?

Hello dpweiss,

2xRAID1 will perform better than 1xRAID5
