Cannot communicate with port 25 internally or externally. Exchange 2007 Windows Server 2008.

We just installed a server for a client and cannot communicate with the server over port 25.  Its running small business server 2008 and exchange 2007.  All of the outlook clients are connected to exchange.  We can communicate on 25 from the server to another mail server but nothing coming in.  We also cannot communicate on 25 from one computer on the network to the server.  We did change the IP scheme half way through the install.

Need help!!

Did you checked the Windows built in firewall, is it active?

When you changed the IP Address, did you run the Fix My Network Wizard afterwards?

Can you start the Exchange management console and check: server configuration --> hub transport --> default <servername> and client <servername> and make sure ip adresses 0.0.0.0 - 255.255.255.255 are listed?

THere was not a connector present under hub transport.  This must be manually configured.

If you had responded to the comments made and suggestions put to you, you may have saved yourself the call to Microsoft and resulting bill.

EE needs 2-way communication to work, otherwise it does not work.
