Skype -- User Availability icon

Hi,

I just set up two Skype accounts (one for me and another one for my wife).

The setup of Skype (I'm a first-time user) was really easy.    For testing purposes, I've placed two laptops in the same room and was able to make video calls between those two machines successfully.

What I'm trying to figure out is the "availability icon".   Given that my wife's laptop is up and running, I don't understand as to why the availability icon is set to "gray" vs. "green"... and vice versa for my account displaying on her machine.

How do I set the Skype account so that it'll change to "green" once either of us logs in?

Thanks,
EEH

Yes, both are considered "off-line"... even though that's not the case in this scenario.

I know the other person see's them as offline but is your wife computer logging into the skype network and putting her as invisible or is it failing to connect all together and leaving her as off-line?

For testing purposes, I've placed both machines only 5 part apart (to reduce the audio feedback).

I've logged into Skype on both machines.   I successfully called machine 1 from machine 2 and vice versa.

On both machines though, the offline symbol is shown.
