How to get bsplayer 1.37 playing picture (usiing windows xp sp3 on macbook via vmware fusion 2.0)

I want to be able to play any form of video using bs player 1.37 on windows xp through vmware fusion on my macbook. I have looked up posts on the website and have found that installing ace mega codec pack does not help while k-lite 5.1 codecs enables me to play files using windows media player 11. But bsplayer refuses to play picture on certain files but does play sound. How can I get it to play picture as well?

You will need to find a codec for the video portion.  If k-lite codec pack does not do it for you, no sure what will.

Also, why not bplayer 2.51 which is the most current version.  The version is specify is quite a few revisions behind..

Lastly, are you trying to use bslyer rather than Windows media player or Quicktime and if so, why?

1.37 is The best player i have have found on the net. It is simple, responsive and attractive. It works fine on my dell windows laptop with no problems. Why not through vmware? I don't like 2.51 it is clumsy, ugly and slower response. VLC is good for most vids but does not share the cleanness and clarity and ease of use of 1.37. WMP and quicktime the same. How do you suggest I find the requisite codec?
What format is the video that will not play nicely and only gives you audio?
We need to know this please.
What codecs did you get with the k-lite 5.1 codecs
was it the lite or the full pack?
Most video playback problems are resolved with just one codec ffdshow which you get when you install  VLC.
So it comes down to the source of this video, if there is DRM in place it may not play nicely no matter the codecs
Please post the format ok then i can assess this.
BSPlayer 1.37 doesn't cope with all codecs - particularly some of the AVI packages & you'll need a separate player like MPC for those. It's a coding issue and there currently is no workaround - it's because people choose bizarre combinations of audio and video codec when re-encoding & also because codecs like XviD were new and evolving when 1.37 was released. If you installed BSP from the K-Lite package you'll also have GSpot so you can quickly identify the files that aren't playing. You can try installing the missing codec separately but if it doesn't fix it it's a fault with BSP not the codec. Upgrading BSP (currently to v2.51) will get you almost the same range of codecs that Media Player Classic has but compared with v1.37 the layout is much larger on your screen and you don't have the option to scroll the playback image size down to zero.  I agree the appearance of 1.37 is much better than the skins on 2.51 but the function just isn't there :(
Thanks for your comments. As stated BS player 1.37 works perfect on my Dell system for virtually all video files. When it does not I can always switch to VLC or WMP or WMP Classic. That is fine. However it will not currently play on xp sp3 through VMWare fusion on my macbook. It is my belief that this was not always so. DRM is not the issue. I am sure that the codecs on k lite all installed correctly as they are associated with wmp 11 and bs player and wmplayer has not problems.
K lite is the mega pack not basic but I don't know if I should alter the settings in this to help bs player perform. Currently all setting are default??!!
File types which currently do not work with bs are; (Using GSpot)
MPEG-1 WMV/P. In fact it won't show picture for any form of vid file!

Are there any changes I should make when setting up k lite?
Other ideas, questions!!
Thanx
Right, well the only significance about mpeg is that this a DVD format and owned by the Motion Picture Experts Group, usually VLC resolves the need for the mpeg plugin, otherwise a DVD decoder was  needed such as power DVD, win DVD etc
playback issues with mpeg probable cause direct draw or lack of performance.  AND VMWare is Laggy
WMV is a microsoft codec and does most definately have DRM.
Must be VMWare fusion and macbook<< WMV may not play on a MAC nicely as it is

As i see it you can either update your version of VMWare to the latest version or forget about playing these formats
or convert your videos to another format suitable for MAC and VMWare

OK. Plan B I've got myself BS Player 2.5 and i've loaded the old skins from version 1. It now works as I want except it won't play many vid files:
Results of vid files which don't work (from GSpot) -
mpg
video codec: mpeg1              name: mpeg-1,
avis
video codec: DX50                name is xvid 1.0.3

As before audio is fine
Suggestions??
Thanks again
Ok, do you have ffdshow installed?
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/ffdshow
go into ffdshow's configuration, and set wmv from disa-bled to 'libavcodec'
BS player as far I remember is an old version of the divx player other than that if ffdshow doesnt fix it
getting this player to support all video formats in VMware I really don't know.
MASQUERAID really covered it by saying - it's because people choose bizarre combinations of audio and video codec when re-encoding & also because codecs like XviD were new and evolving << are always evolving.
You mayhave to consider your options, open source players is a must to cover the laggy in VM.
I'll show you 2 players that I use  one with the emphasis on using as little as possible resources.
