VBA: Displaying text in the status bar

Is it possible to display text in the statusbar using VBA for Autocad for progress status etc?

application.statusbar="....."

works in excel VBA but not in autocad.

Some other part of the screen will also do.

I do not want to do it in a userform so that is not an option.

I don't think you can display text on the Drawing status bar or Application status bar.
(at least in Acad 2009, I didn't find it).

You can always use the MsgBox() function, but the user has to click each one away.

You could also try to set the prompt with:

  ThisDrawing.Utility.prompt "message"

and with some delay, it shows the message on the prompt.

And cheating, with

  ThisDrawing.Utility.GetInput

it will make the message go to the next line in the prompt.

This will display a string in the lower left hand corner. It's limits are 255 characters.

Sub Tester()
    ThisDrawing.SetVariable "modemacro", "Looky here"
End Sub
