SBS 2008 with Win 2k3 Std Server - Group Policy Firewall

Hello,

We have a SBS 2008 server and a Win 2k3 Std server joined to that domain.

We want to open the Remote Desktop port 3389 up on the 2k3 server.  Group Policy from the domain is controlling the firewall, but it does have port 3389 open, but the scope of the rule is "My Network" only, we need to change that to "Any Computer".

I went into SBS 2008's group policy editor, found the rule for remote desktop's port, but do not see anywhere to change the scope.  There is a scope setting, but it is set to allow traffic from "Any IP address" already.

Other XP desktop's have the same problem.  We also have Windows 7 PC's joined to the domain, and they do allow us to get in from the the internet, so this problem seems to effect older OS's only.

Any suggestions on how to get this working, without disabling the 2k3 server's firewall?

If you disable the Firewall on the Windows 2003 server can you access it remotely?

That's correct, but I'd rather leave the firewall up and group policy intact if there is a way to modify the scope on older OS's.

Thanks

So, was the GP extensions the correct answer?
