Use Backup Exec 12 to backup Cifs Shares

I am trying to back up my EMC Cifs shares.   I have tried mapping the drive on the local server that does the backups and enabled backing up of shared drives but still cannot see the drive in the backup exec software.  Anyone have any suggestions?

What EMC product are you using to enable your cifs shares? Are they located on a san or nas? If so which one are you using.

We recently ugraded to a Celerra NS using CIFS shares and we had to purchase a license for backup exec to use the NDMP backup option. You may need to do this as well.

I have looked at the NDMP option but it is expensive so I was hoping for another way. I am using the NX4 Nas.
