How to set up Lotus Sametime for remote users

I have Sametime Limited Use 7.5 installed on a separate server with Domino 7.0.4.  I have 40 users in our Corporate office logged in to our network and they can log in to Sametime.  I have 58 remote users that are not logged in to our network; no VPN.  They cannot log in to the Sametime server.  What settings are needed to get the remote users logged in?  They get to othe mail server for replication using a hosts file entry.

Set Sametime's server document to use a fully-qualified host name, eg. sametime.company.com.  Do this on the Basics tab, the Ports tab, and the HTTP tab of the server document.  Set your internal DNS server to resolve sametime.company.com to the internal IP address.  Set all workstations to use the internal DNS server.  Reserve a public IP address just for Sametime.  Set public DNS to resolve sametime.company.com to the public IP.  Set a NAT rule on your firewall to route requests for the public IP in to the internal IP.  Allow ports 80, 443, 1352 and 1533 for those requests.  At this point, Sametime setup is the same for internal and external.  Just specify sametime.company.com for the sametime server and it will connect.

Thanks GregBussey.  I am working on setting the external IP and will probably not have that ready until next week.  I will respond again after that.

Hi GregBussey.  Sorry for taking so long to respond.  I finally got everything set right and the external people are connecting now.  Thanks for your help.
