Exchange Server error message
I'm seeing this error in the Application log:
Information Store (7504) First Storage Group: Database D:\Exchsrvr\MDBDATA\priv1. edb: Index FidDeleteTimeIndex of table IndexAge is corrupted (0).
Yesterday I had to shut down the server because it completely froze up, when it came back up, everyone was getting the error that Outlook couldnt connect to the server. Had to stop and start the Information Store service a few times, finally it came back on. This never happened after a reboot although that's one of the only times I've had to do a hard shutdown on the server.
So I noticed this error and I was wondering what it meant, and if I should be taking any action to make sure our information store is safe. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Yes - sadly an offline database is required, so your users will either need warning or you get to stay behind or work remotely.

Will any email be lost while the IS is down or will it all just get delivered when it comes back on?
Any mail will queue up whilst the store is offline and then get delivered once it is back up again. The delivery time will be the time it gets delivered to the store and not when the server received it, so there will be a small gap in time in your mail. Nothing to get excited about though.
