HTTP Service unavailable.

Dear Experts,

I was initially tasked with configuring FTP for an external client.
so I added FTP services into my sbs 2003 and configured everything accordingly.
then I added a server publishing rule into ISA 2004 based on the guide here
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc713319.aspx
even though ISA informed me that they detect only a single NIC configuration even though there were two physical NICs.

while that didn't made the FTP work, immediately I restored my ISA previous backup configuration and remove the FTP component. However I realised that somehow my company's website was affected which prompts the following message when internal/external users tried to access:

HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.

I tried following every solution I can through the following:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/871179
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822699 (I don't have a local users and groups snap-in here, so I followed through everything from step 12 onwards and at the end of typing the commands into CMD, I get this error message as well.
Error: 80110414

and now it displays the following message when I tried to access my company's site through any browswer.

Service Unavailable

any form of help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Hi,

Well, so now problem you are facing is that external clients when accessing your company internal website facing error "HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.".

Are you sure that the rule you have defined has 'condition' column you defined "All Users" instead of Authenticated.

Hi Faraz,

thanks for your reply.
it would mean that I have to do that under my IIS default website's permissions right?

hi Faraz I've checked.
the condition column says by default it is All Users.

it is another issue now.
the error message I got when internal or external users tried to access my company's OWA (Outlook Web Access) via a web browser (https://www.companyname.com/exchange) gets this error.

Error Code: 500 Internal Server Error. The network logon failed. (1790)

I am guessing it has to do with my owa web publishing and sbs outlook via internet web publishing rules in my ISA 2004. I've changed the ports for HTTP to an alternative port other than 80 under my bridging and listener tabs but still to no avail.

would really appreciate the help.
