Can't install SQL 2008 Complete management tools

Hi,

I seem to have a problem installing the complete SSMS for SQL 2008 standard. Initially, SQL Express 2008 was installed and then Standard was installed side by side until Express was removed (not the ideal way, but it was necessary at the time). I'm guessing it's the Express tools which have been left behind, preventing me from putting the complete set on.

If I remove the SSMS using Windows Install Cleanup tool, am I right in assuming this will still leave the database instance alone or will it interfere with the services during the process? It's a live system so would rather not have it go down during the process.

Thanks

Paul
