    Accepted Solution

For example you have a VM named winxp in datastore named 500G

You can list all VMs : vmware-cmd -l
To get state of winxp : vmware-cmd /vmfs/volumes/500G/winxp/winxp.vmx getstate
    To stop winxp : vmware-cmd /vmfs/volumes/500G/winxp/winxp.vmx stop
    To start winxp : vmware-cmd /vmfs/volumes/500G/winxp/winxp.vmx start

    For more options

    vmware-cmd --help
    man vmware-cmd
