asked on
Which hive startup apps
W 2000 server crashed.
BSOD can't read SYSTEM HIVE
using a SYSTEM HIVE from 2004,
the it said can't load SOFTWARE
HIVE...
I restored with a SOFTWARE HIVE
from last week.
Server runs fine, but it does not
load NOD32, or a couple of other
programs at startup.
I am probably going to re-install
them BUT my question is ::
could the startup info for
those apps be in the SYSTEM
hive?
I just find it odd that they do not
start.
I did this to a server previously,
replaced SYSTEM hive only
to bring it back to life and
everything start up fine.
-thanks,
