Not sure I completely understand the question. What is the file format of the organization chart?

What does it look like when you try to open it? Usually Open Office does a good job of converting the office format to its own on the fly.

Looks like you used an AddIn i(in 2007??) to create the chart. It won't work in open office and maybe not even in arlier PPT versions unless you have the addin loaded there too.

Your best bet may be to convert it to .ppt instead of .pptx and then open it with Open Office.

Now that I've taken a look at it in Microsoft Office Powerpoint, It is for sure an addon for PowerPoint. Do you want to edit the chart? I've included an image of the chart below from it being opened in PowerPoint 2007. If you would like to still just view the chart in the native format (PPT), you can download the official PowerPoint viewer here (this will not let you edit it though) -> http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=048DC840-14E1-467D-8DCA-19D2A8FD7485&displaylang=en

For me it can be edited in OO 3.1.1 but probably because I also have 2007 with Org Chart File exe.

@bobmaj - I found this forum post with somebody wanting to do the same thing. You can't edit a chart like that created in MS Office, and import it into OpenOffice.Org. Since your chart is small, I would recommend just recreating it in OpenOffice.Org Impress. Link to forum -> http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=15537
