Test restore SBS 2003 with backup exec 12 for SBS
I am trying to simulate a disaster recovery of one of our client. He has an SBS 2003 Std and is being backed up with Backup exec 12. backup seems to be working fine as log does not show any errors. Could anyone tell me what is the procedure to restore the server correctly. All documentation i found on symantec site focus on SBS 2000 not SBS 2003 and it is a bit misleading

I tried to follow these steps but ended up with a blue sceen, even after a repair
well, as my first post, i personally don like use backup exec for windows to do disaster recovery, because you got these issues always.
I have only get 2 successful DR plan going for 10 of them.
BE is just not up to the job to do one. Especially you trying to restore to a disimiliar hardware.
and you need to nearly rebuild from scratch. so which part you gone to BSOD?
I will try out BESR and see whether that works for the client.

So what I did was install a fresh windows 2003 server. restored the system state and done a repair of the OS. After that the BSOD kept appearing as soon as the windows loading screen is shown
