Where do you see this message? What is sender trying to do?

The message usually means that the server refuses to relay a message coming from outside the server's domain to outside the server's domain. The server is probably set not to be an open relay. It also happens when you use Outlook and SMTP to send a mail through your internal Domino server to the Internet.
