Hi brothers
I have some problems with login to my symantec protection manager
I'm using windows server 2008 x64
when I restart the server the symantec endpoint protection manager service is working and when login i get this message "Unexpected Server Error" and when I restart the symantec protectino manager service I can't start the service and I get this message in the Event Viewer "The semsrv service failed to start." with event id:4098
Can anyone help me?

what version of sep are you running also do you have any services packs installed? the reason why im asking this is because sep 11 mr5 supports win2k8 r2 and sp2 as sep managers... anything older than sep11 mr5 can up to mr4 can be installed on win2k8 but not sp2 or r2
also look search for the following  Fix ID: 1764453 provided in mr5
it sounds like you are experiencing the issue described which is fixed on mr5

This is probably a moot point, but have you contacted Symantec customer service?

I find the solution by myself
after trying manythings I found that there is somthing that is making sepm stop and web server which is symantec live update administrator
I stoppd the live update administrator app from services which is tomcat5.exe and reinstalled it
and now everything is fine and nice
I shared this for knowledge because i had worked hard to solve it
