If I have a Web Site with th vb in cde behind pages...

Does Visual Studio create a DLL when a "Build" is done?

    Yes, the compiled DLL's are within the bin folder.....  This is not native code, but IL and is required to run your website...

    here i enclose some more information

    we can create a new project, a class library, and setup your classes how you normally would.  
    When you build the solution, a DLL will be created in your bin folder that you can then add as a reference to your web project.  

    After adding it, just reference it like any other reference that you add

    It also depends on your web projects settings.

    In you can state if it should pre-build the website and several other options on how it creates dlls. Check the Build and MSBuild options from the Properties Page of the web Project.

    In ASP.Net it is also possible to edit code on the fly. It will automatically re-build the dlls as required (settings permit that is)
