Dell Vostro 1520 with Windows 7 booting up by itself at 5 am and 5 pm

HI all,

Got a weird one--Vostro laptop with Windows 7 has been booting up at 5 am and 5 pm like clockwork. Unplugging the LAN cable did nothing (as I thought it may be a wake-up LAN issue), but when I unplugged both the ethernet as well as the power connection, it didn't boot by itself--so to me it appears to be somewhat affected by the power connection (even though the battery is installed and charged).

Thanks in advance,

Could it be that you have some settings in your BIOS about scheduled boot or booting on different times.

I guess its possible, but this is the default BIOS setup as it was recieved from Dell--the machine is only about 10 days old. Never updated/tweaked.

Try going through these steps to see if you can figure out why this is happening.
