In my head it's so simple. I'm looking for a box with 2 analog telephone line inputs RJ11 from my telephone provider embarq. On the top of the box is a voice recorder with the record button I press then say out loud "Thanks for calling XXXX, press 1 for sales, press 2 for service."
Two lines out analog to two phones that the box picked which line based on what the caller pressed.
Been trying to wrap my head around PBX and it's made worse by overcomplicated setups I dont need like VOIP, outbound receptionist and terms I dont understand like SIP and FXO.
I dont mind if the box switches the analog to network IP except the fact I have to buy new phones.
Can anyone recommend an Easy setup. It does not have to be free but it must be easy. I've been looking into Trixbox but it aint easy I can tell already.
I have a bunch of used Nortel M7310 but again if I can make them work with a trixbox all documentation i've read makes them way too complicated. Almost machine code programming level.
Please go gentle on the telephony acronyms, I only know network and PC lingo.
I just have 2 analog lines, I just need my callers to choose which person they talk to using a welcome message and touchtone prompt, and do not want to spend days learning telephony and pbx.
