EE suggested me to open a new question becasue I am not using enterprise edition, I want to see if there are any other options...thx

    If you can minimize the activity to the user you suspect, I would consider a server side trace to a file and see how it goes. Watch the server for performance and for the file growth and filter out any known negative causes.

    You could also try and restrict access and see if the problem goes away.

    There are tools out there like Sentrigo's Hedgehog that have less impact and don't require enterprise edition:
