what is this error and how can i fix it ?

hi ... i get this error when my mac starts :

/Library/StartupItems/RDUSB0074Startup has not been started because it does not have the proper security settings."

does anyone know what can i do to fix this issue ?

Open the application called Disk Utility and run a REPAIR Disk Permissions on the Hard Drive.

hi robertcerny... Yes I think it happened after i installed the EDIROL AUDIO CAPTURE UA-25 ... it told me that it is not compatible with intel-based MACs and ... i think after that i saw this problem ... anyways i have the hardware and tried to use it with my new mac and i got this error ... is there something that i am missing ? or whats going on ... lol ... thanks 8-)

Hello,
the best I can recommend is to contact vendor for support. However the error you've seen does not mean that the software is incompatible but rather installed with wrong permissions/rights.

no i fixed the roland driver and i dont get the error ... thanks for this but i still have the actual file on the system and everytime i remove it ... it comes back ... ?

i am using the Disk Utility options to repair to see what happens ... i will let you know asap

nope ... it cleaned the drive and i still have the same issue ... what should i do ?

hi robercerny and sorry for the misunderstanding ... ok so i have these _ds_store files and i do not know how to get rid of them ... for example, i have the file on my desktop and i can't remove it ... in general these files are in every folder i want to know what are these file and how i can remove them ... ?

ps. thanks for the roland info .... the roland driver is fine and its working ... so i do not know what are these files ... ?
