Hi, does anyone have any idea why the flash animation of the 3D rotating helicopter cannot be cache on my computer or retrieve using software like flashget?

Try the free Orbit downloader: www.orbitdownloader.com

Another method would be to use Firefox and the Downloadhelper extension: http://www.downloadhelper.net/

thanks for the tips, but I don't think the 3D animation is a video. I have tried using Real Player to download the flash but it mention that the clip is not downloadable from the site. I think it is being stream from another server.

This probably is the 3D data for it which was loaded into Flash using Papervision 3D...

You can download two animations with Downloadhelper, one .flv and one .dae

1. Right click on browser within page body at some corner
2. Go to page source
3. Search for some relevant .swf file
4. Go to your "Temporary Internet Files" folder
5. Search for the above searched file
6. 90% chance is that you will get your desired file.

Otherwise
use Mozilla Firefox and use its "Download Helper" plugin/add on

Hi, thanks everyone for their contribution.

I have succeed in using firefox and download helper to retrieve the dae and swf file.

Even if I have managed to download the dae file as mentioned, it is just some coding and not the 3D model of the helicopter.

As for the swf file, it is just one of the video on the site.

I find that it is fair to assign more points to torimar as he is the first to provide the information on how to download the files.

Like already pointed out by CyanBlue, the .dae file is in fact the 3D model, but in the Collada file format readable and displayable by the "Papervision 3D" programming framework for Actionscript. On the site, this .dae file is played through a selfmade player called "EC_NGViewer.swf". I retrieved this player as well, but did not get it to work standalone (I did not attach it here because I ignore its copyright status).

I could not find a player that would render Collada files. Maybe someone else knows of one.
Otherwise there may be a way to convert the .dae file to either static or animated 3DS Max formats using this tool: http://update.multiverse.net/wiki/index.php/Model_Conversion_Tool
