SQL 2008 and SQL Express 2005 Coexist

I have a server running on windows 2008 with SQL 2008, for some reason I need to install the SQL express 2005 to the same server, any expert have experience about this? any risk need to bear?

Yea, they co-exist fine.
I have a environment running sql server 2008, express 2008 and express 2005.
Some applications require specific version of express to run (ie: SQL 2005 databases are not compatibale with Sql 2008 databases - you cannot backup a sql 2008 db and restore it directly to sql 2005 express  etc...)

yes, they can coexist with no problems.
the only setting you need to configure on both instances is the "max memory setting" to ensure they will not try to both fetch all the RAM, which would result in "paging", which would slow down both instances AND the server to almost "halting" ...

you can do this, you can install any instance of sql server you want
but if you run under windows server 2008, so why you don't use sql server 2008 enterprise edition?, this is full feature

You can have as many servers  as you can installed with different versions on the same machine
