What data type to save a pdf / word file in SQL Server 2008 Express Edition?

Hi, what data type is needed  to save a text files , pdf , word file in SQL Server 2008 Express Edition?

    particularly Electronic Signature files

    Use Image.
    I found this to be best as some files that are saved are Binary ... which get messed up using a "string" field like nvarchar, text etc...

    Use varbinary(MAX). This would also help you create index and search the contents of the PDFs, if need be.

    Using "image" data type u can save any file into database. Take the file into byte[] array and pass this array as parameter for file data.
