Hi sib_user,

That server behavior should be there in DW 8 server behavior menu.  Look for User Authentication and that has a submenu...

jason1178,

Perhaps it is and I am looking in the wrong place.  Please have a look at the attached image and tell me if I am.

Ah ha.  You didn't say you were using ASP.NET.

The Authenticate User behavior doesn't exist under ASP.NET for some reason.  Part of Adobe's half-assed support of ASP.NET in Dreamweaver (since dropped in CS4).  I'm not even sure if there are any extensions for ASP.NET that would work for you.

Jason1178,

Thanks for the answer.  Please clarify one thing though.  Are you saying that DW CS4 doesn't support ASP.net at all?

If so I will switch to Visual Web Developer 2008.

Yes, Adobe has dropped ASP.NET support as of CS4.  You can still open ASP.NET pages and see the code coloring but all behaviors have been removed.

Dreamweaver is now just PHP, ColdFusion, and ASP Classic.
