Upgrade from MSSQL 2005 Express to MSSQL 2008 Standard

Will MSSQL 2008 standard edition upgrade an installation of MSSQL 2005 Express?
Will I loose anything in regards to my MSSQL 2005 databases, users, passwords?

    So, you're asking if you can upgrade your express version to standard, right?

    While you cannot upgrade in one step, you can upgrade from 2005 Express to 2008 Express, then upgrade to 2008 Standard.
