We have a SBS 2003 server that has had Outlook 2003 also installed on it.
This is not a supported Microsoft configuration so we would like to uninstall Outlook.
We believe from our research that we should be able to uninstall outlook 2003 using add/remove programs but there is also mention on some posts that a re-installation of Exchange is sometimes necessary afterwards.

Can someone confirm whether it is a starightforward uninstall of Outlook, or whether issues can occur as a result.

Yes it's definately not supported sue to the MAPI interface.

Uninstall Outlook and then simply re-installing Exchange 2003 SP2 should resolve it.

Thanks for the comment.  Is it always necessary to reinstall Exchange after removing Outlook?

No just the service pack will be sufficient.

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

Thanks and can you confirm that the exchange database will be unaffected with the uninstall of outlook and reinstall of the service pack.

It will go down whilst the service pack is installed but that's about it and that's only because the services get stopped.
