I'm having trouble getting outlook anywhere to work on windows 2008 sbs.
I have already enabled it and purchased\installed a certificate and now when you go to outlook web access you don't get a security warning but it still doesn't work. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What is the exact link you are attempting to connect? Copy and paste out of your browser.

You can omit server particulars. Just verify that you are using "https" and not "http."

    Accepted Solution

To verify Autodiscover is configured correctly or not do this :

on client machine open outlook 2007 > hold control key > right click on the Outlook icon in notification are and select Test EmailAutoconfiguration just check Autodiscover provide credentials and click on Test

see if the test passes and gives you the valid URLs

For autodiscover to work internally .... Autodiscover Url needs to be set correctly in the SCP object which you can check by doing:

    Get-ClientAccessServer |fl

    And look for AutodiscoverInternalUri

The URl mentioned should have a valid domain, if the domain is not the one included in Certificate you can configure that URL by following KB

And for Autodiscover to work Externally you need to have Valid SAN certificate.and follwoing shoud be resolved
there should be SRV record for Autodiscover in you external DNS

See this article on How Autodiscover works and configure accrodingly

    Post back for any clarification.
