Cannot copy and paste into another workbook
I am having trouble pasting data from one workbook to another. It's baffling.
I have checked everything from add-ins to options to sheet protection with no luck.
I can copy (to Clipboard) and Alt-Tab to any other application (IE, etc.), but if I Alt-Tab to another Excel workbook (seperate instance or not) the Clipboard is cleared.
Neither the sheet, nor the workbook is protected.
This is pretty crazy.

Try same steps logged in as a different user and see if it works. Had several users with this issue and I believe the only resolution was to delete the corrupt profile and re-setup settings. Make sure and save any favorites or docs that are stored in the profile before deleting it so they can be transferred to the new profile once it's setup.

Are you saying you're copying between Excel workbooks? Or you're copying from another application to Excel. If the former, just try using Control F6 to move from one book to the other. See if you still lose the data on the clipboard. As venkat_dh suggested, clipboard problems like this are often caused by add-ons. Disable all add-ins and see if that makes a difference.

I finally found the answer. Turns out that some Events will affect CutCopyMode, but not all. The worksheet_deactivate event is one that does, so when I took out a line of my code that affected the visibility of tabs, the issue went away. Hope someone else is able to benefit from the discovery. Cheers!
