I've built a simple server in Delphi 2007 and compiled it into an ISAPI DLL. I want to install this DLL on my VPS running IIS 6.

How do I install the DLL and how do I call it ?

What is the difference between installing as an ISAPI Filter and as an ISAPI Extension ?

In order to call DLL's in IIS 6 you'll need to set it as an allowed Web Service Extension.

To do this, within IIS click on Web Service Extensions.  Add a new Web Service Extension, give it a name and point to your DLL.  Click the check box to set it as allowed.

Looks like I need to install it as an extension rather than a filter.

When the DLL has been installed as an extension, is it therefore loaded when IIS is restarted and how do I call a function within the DLL
