Count is not a member of String

Hello everybody, I've this error and I dont know

Count' is not a member of 'String

I trying to do this:

Dim general_data As String = general.GestorSelectMAX()
If general_data.ToString().count > 0 Then

end if

My DB is in access.

I've the same code in other project and it's working really good.

Anybody can help me?

    either you want the "length" of the string:

    If general_data.ToString().Length > 0 Then
