I was just tasked with a SonicWall TZ210 and needed some assistance with the configuring and also blocking internet access for certain pc's.

How do I go abou this?  Do I just need to gather the IP's of whom or what needs to be blocked?  What about receiving email from the exchange or POP3 server's for mail?

What type of information should I gather from the client?

for blocking the internet just block port 80 and if you want 443 outbound from those PCs. Make sure they have static addresses, create their address objects and make a group if there's more then 1. Then create the rule to block those ports for that group LAN to WAN.

I am not sure what you mean by the email question, can you clarify?

    Accepted Solution

Important question is do all the machine where you wish to block internet on the same subnet as rest of the network; if yes, are they on static IP or dynamic IP.

If statis then as already told by jlwcci; you have a solution; but if dynamic then we would need to think on this.

    Please update.

    Thank you.
