OWA users opening Office 2007 attachments as .zip files

I'm in a bit of a bind and am in dire need of fixing a problem. Our OWA users are only able to open/save Office 2k7 attachments as zip files. I am not sure if this is been an ongoing issue or not, as it has just came to my attention this morning. All users are affected.
On our exchange server, in IIS, I've checked the mime types for Office 2k7 and they are all there, associated properly. I've even added the mime type "docx application/msword, xlsx/ms-excel" to the parent and child website folders, but still to no avail. Restarted IIS, rebooted server.

I've also checked to see if the server is using http compression, but it isn't.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm stumped and out of ideas :(

    Thanks for the info!

Unfortunately, this is affecting our field users not on the domain and asking everyone to apply the site to their trusted sites isn't an option as these machines are locked down by hospitals we have no control over. :(

BUT, here's the funny thing...there were around 25 updates on the exchange server waiting for me. I installed them and rebooted..problem is fixed now!
