I am trying to set up an ODBC connection to a Firebird 2.1 database on a mapped drive using IBPhoenix 2.0 on windows 7. upon entering all of the information, I recieve a message telling me that the open database action failed. I have entered all of the required information, name, database path, gds32.dll, username as SYSDBA and password as "masterkey" charset as WIN1251,

Using all of the same details on a connection to a local database, the connection is succesful.

Any help would be appreciated,

Many thanks,

This will not work, by design firebird will NOT connect to database on a mapped drive

you should install firebird server on the PC hosting the drive and then connect to it via that server process

hi NickUpson, to my knowledge we have firrebird server on the host server, how would I go about connecting to that server process to enable a connection to Crystal reports 2008?
