Currently our company email solution is exchange server 2007 with Outlook 2007 on client PCs
I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to export all of a users email messages and contacts and then delete the primary email account or change it so it will use our imap email provided by our web host.
We want to basically move away from the Exchange Server 2007 and still use Outlook as the mail client. The reason has nothing to do with Exchange Server itself. It's just that it's not our Exchange Server and we will no longer be able to use it in the future.
I have checked out Google Apps Premier and it seems to be a great solution to our problem because you can run the program Google Sync for Outlook which will basically do exactly what I am trying to do. It will copy all of the contacts, and messages for the user over to Google apps from exchange.
However, we are exploring other options and would like to consider email from our web hosting provider. This would involve somehow exporting all of the data from the exchange server and the client Outlook PCs and then setting up a new account and then importing the data.
I've been able to export to a .pst file but so far I haven't figured out how to import that data back into Outlook for a new account that uses an imap email account versus the Exchange Server.
Our client PCs run Windows XP pro, Window Vista Ultimate, and Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.
