Adding Users to Windows Server 2008 R2  X64 Group from Trusted Windows 2003 Forest

I am trying to add my users from my original Windows Server 2003 Domain to a new WIndows Server 2008 R2 64 server (not the PDC of the Domain) to both the Remote Desktop Users Group as well as to shares. If i try and do a search of the trusted domain (which shows up in the Location Field) i get a message in the search results that says " THe followinf error prevented the display of any items:  The server is not operational."

How is the trust set up between your two domains?

Direction of trust:Two-way: Users in the local domain can authenticate in the specified domain and users in the specified domain can authenticate in the local domain.
Tranitivity of Trust: This trust is forest transitive.  Users from indirectly trusted domains within the enterprise may authenticate in the trusting enterprise.
It has been verified from both PDC's.

    Accepted Solution

I was able to resolve the problem by disabling the Nic to the external network. Not sure why this resolved the issue but it worked.
