Window 7 and MS Intellimouse optical side buttons.

Hi.
I got a new PC with Windows 7 64bits an i got trouble setting my good old microsoft Intellimouse optical.

Here the exact model of the mouse:

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/productdetails.aspx?pid=004

I installed the last 'driver' IntelliPoint 7.0 64-bit for Windows 7

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/DownloadResult.aspx?category=MK&type=Mouse&name=D58-00026&os=Win7_64&lang=fre

But no matter what I try, I cannot set the mouse's side buttons to copy( left button) and paste (right button).

And yes, I rebooted.

Thanks.

ok,
look like a good workaround.  I'm installing that Autohotkey thing and get back to you...

I only had to invert the mouse buttons code and remove the middle mouse button shortcut and everything is OK...

here my slightly modified script.

XButton2::^v
XButton1::^c

Open in new window
