VAMSoft registered version not installed right

I had the trial version with ORF VAMSoft. Per the instructions in http://www.vamsoft.com/downloads/trialconvert.pdf I installed the registered product over the trial version, but i get the attached error. I am not able to start the ORF service either.

can you suggest what may be going on.

Hi Anusha,
I would uninstall the entire product, then re-install the registered version, but, make a copy of the program directory before you remove the software to preserve the logs and settings, then uninstall, wipe the contents of the program directory and then re-install.
You should then be able to copy over the settings file and log files and should be up and running quickly.

This could have been caused by a Windows issue and not ORF: e.g. your Windows Event Logs (e.g. Application log) are full. Please try to clear the logs, the ORF Service should start without problems after that.

hmm.. there was a lock on orfeesvc.exe, so once I removed completely that file, then the installation went through OK.

the old exe that would not go away or be willing to be overwitten had time stamp of June 16th 2009 10:22am, the new one that works fine is June 16th 2009 10:23am

it also picked up the old settings and the history..

Hm, strange... Glad to hear it works now. You can check the module versions from the Administration Tool (Main menu: Help | About ORF... | Modules), for the latest version these should be:

orfeesvc.exe 4.3.0.29.29

orfeeadm.exe 4.3.0.1082
orfelogv.exe 4.3.0.425
orfrep.exe 4.3.0.219

orfsmtpinst.exe 4.3.0.26
orfainst.exe 4.3.0.19
orfinsthelper.exe 4.3.0.59

If these versions match with the module versions of your installation, you are good to go. (The versions may differ if the upgrade installation was unsuccessful and some modules have left from previous versions).
