Using HP 373211-001 Trays for MSA 2012i

Hi,

Can I use the HP 373211-001 trays with the HP MSA 2012i storage cabinet? My plan is to install 3rd party harddisks instead of buying the rather expensive disks from HP directly..

Thanks, Matthias

I already told you it won't. The MSA2x12 is OEM'ed from Dot Hill, it doesn't take standard HP Proliant drives / caddies. Only the SFF version takes standard HP caddies, presumably because HP told Dot Hill to make them compatible or else they'd send the boys round.

No, the MSA2xxx large form factor trays are totally different than Proliant trays. The small form factor MSA2324x uses the same disk/trays as the 2.5" Proliant disks though.

I haven't seen them for sale, I'm pretty sure they're generic dot hill caddies but not seen those for sale either.

Guys,

I just checked - the 373211-001 is for use with 3.5" drives.... So, can anybody confirm if this tray will work with the HP MSA2 storage products?

Thanks, Matthias
