Offline Files not available offline

We just purchased a new dell latitude E4300 laptop for a staff member. This staff member needs to access files on his shared drive at the office when off of our domain. We currently redirect our staff "Home" directory to the my documents folder, when they go home and use the system they login with fully qualified name to access the same profile with the my documents folder cached.

My current problem is that this one machine will not allow the files to be offline, when you login off of the network the shared drive is not listed as an offline drive (it disconnects when you logout) as it should be and my documents is not accessible. Now this works on other machines and his current machine so I am confused as to why its not working on this one. If you view the offline files you can see all of his files but they are not setup in a directory structure like within my docs.

These are the things I have tried.

Cleared cache, deleted all offline files and re-synced
reinstalled OS and re-synced

I just tried that and it didn't work (thank you though), it seems that the problem lies with the users " Home" drive not staying mapped when logging in offline as an offline network drive so the my documents folder has nothing to point to.

I had a similar problem at a customer just the other day, and the problem there was that the IP subnet at home for the user was the same as the subnet at work (both 192.168.1.0/24), and somehow this made the synchronization mess up. As soon as I changed the IP range on the home network for the customer, the synchronization started working again.

Thank you for comments.

I was able to fix this problem by logging in off of network, connecting network cable, mapping drive under local profile account and then logging out.
