Hello,
I am connecting my web application which is running on JBoss 5.0 server using MySql server currently to a databsse on Sybase SQL Anywhere 11.
I have managed to run the database server and migrated my databse.. now i am stuck at configuring and connecting the database server to my application. I am using hibernate framework to handle all the databse operations.
I have configured the  sybase-ds.xml file in my jboss deploy folder.
downloaded the driver class file and stored it in my jbos/lib folder.
I dont even know whether this supports hibernate or not..
i checked the hibernate documentation... where i got the info that it is supported.

Can someone please help me with the connection and configuration..

thnx.

I don't have sybase with me but I am sure that sybase would be supported by Hibernate. Hibernate states that it supports Sybase 12.5 (JConnect 5.5).

The following are the broad steps that you would need to take to migrate the database; Hibernate is popular because you can move to different databases with minimal/no changes to code.

1. Edit the hibernate-cfg.xml to change the dialect to "org.hibernate.dialect.SybaseAnywhereDialect"
https://www.hibernate.org/hib_docs/v3/api/org/hibernate/dialect/SybaseAnywhereDialect.html
2. Change the id-generators if they are used in your hbm files to "native" so that the database specific sequence generators are picked up automatically by Hiberante.
3. If you are using SP, mySQL specific data functions you would need to convert them to Sybase stuff.

Let me know if you encounter specific issues that you cannot solve.

This is another custom dialects available where the Author claims he supports version 11.
