Duplicate Network Drive

I have several computers with a mapped network drive, but a duplicate appeared leading to the same drive, under a different drive letter. Why did this happen and how do I remove the duplicate?

I have heard of the FindFast services causing this problem. On the problematic PC/s disable it in the services management console or using MSConfig.

To remove the duplicate right click on it and choose disconnect, or you can 'push' it out using your logon script and
    net use  /persistent:no
    net use *  /delete

    ps use:
    net use  /persistent:no
    net use *  /delete
Before the drive mappings in your logon script. Using it after will delete the newly recreated mappings.
