Error when connecting to SCOM 2007 server

When I try to connect to a System Center Operations Manager 2007 server via the SCOM console, I receive "Sdk Service has not yet initialized."

I've checked in services.msc on the server that runs SCOM and don't see anything that looks relevant.

Any thoughts. The individual who normally handles SCOM is out this week. I'm afraid I don't know much about it.

    Checked HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager\3.0\Setup\DatabaseServerName
Found that it was pointing to a SQL server that was not started. After getting SQL up, we can now get into OpsMgr.
