Google apps email - disable user password change function

Hi, is there a way to disable the user password change function for our users?

We are using Standard edition of Google apps for 15 users.

Some times business needs may require accessing the mailbox of a user.

Is this possible?

Thanks

From what I see on the administrator's page, and in Google's docs, there isn't a way to block this.

You (the Google App admin) can change the user password at any time.

With other versions (Enterprise, Education) you can enable SSO (single sign-on) and change the URL for password change...that should effectively block it.

For the standard edition, there isn't that level of control.

Thank you. Can I purchase the "message discovery" service by postini , google apps partner, so that I can have access to the email domain users' archive?

if not, are you aware of any competing services that offer such functionality for admins?

Thanks!

IIRC, the postini service has the message archive function as well as some filtering and rules processing.  I think there's configuration for encryption as well.

I don't have the product, but there's some info at: http://www.google.com/postini/email.html#utm_campaign=en&utm_source=en-ha-na-us-bk&utm_medium=ha&utm_term=postini%20mail

From a compliance point of view, a good archiving system should not allow deletes, and should also track access to the archives.  For any one message, there should be an audit trail of when the archive received the file, then trails of every user who accessed it and the action performed (read, forward, etc).

Sorry.  Archiving link is:  http://www.google.com/postini/email.html#archive

Same page, just a little further down.  100-user minimum buy-in.

I understand.  Moved a very small group to GoDaddy-based mail.  Allows custom rules for BCC.  Used that to send copies of everything to an "archive" account, which is just copies of everything.  Set up Outlook rules to BCC outbound mail.

Too bad Google Mail doesn't have these types of controls.  Good from a security standpoint...bad from a convenience/control standpoint.
