outlook 2007 windows7 unable to open wav attachment

We have a unified messaging system that sends wav files to my inbox. When I try to save the attachment I get "Cannot save Attachement" When I try to play it I get operation failed file could not be found. I've seen the posts about the "temporary internet files" folder and have cleaned it out. I even renamed thru regedit as one post suggested however when I reopened outlook it changed it back. Anyone have a solution to this problem?

Have you tried "Save As" and saving it to your Desktop? What about a temp folder (Like c:\temp) that has everyone full access permissions?

So I assume you did this :

however few questions : Do you have Google desktop ?
Sometimes Google Desktop Search Addin produces such behavior.

Are you using Outlook Web Access ?
Outlook Web Access has 2 levels of file attachments for blocking.
*.wav is not on the list (so you should be able to play it.Just associate Windows Media Player
    with *.wav)

    Accepted Solution

I've seen these and have tried these with the exception of the external pdf viewer. It's a wav file attachment I'm trying to open or save it will do neither in the outlook pane.
