SEP Manager has stopped getting AV updates after Dec 31st

We are running SEP 11 manager with over 200 clients. It has stopped updating virus definitions after Dec 31 r117. I can manully run updates from SEP client on the server and it goes well but still definitions stay at Dec 31. Restating all services did not help.

What could be causing it? How does one updates virus definitions from within SEP mamager? Thanks.

If you have a current maintenance contract with Symantec, they will give you free support and are extremely good.  Give them a call and let them resolve the issue for you.
You can always manually download the latest release and install it.  It may kick off the process again as it has done previously for a couple of my customers.

You might want to take a look at this.

Basically, there is a bug in SEPM11.

Symantec are only releasing virus definitions dated 31/12/2009 Revision xxx at the moment, because when their definitions are dated 1/1/2010 SEP has issues.

As a result SEP will soon say that the definitions are out of date, because they will appear to be more than 10 days old.

I would highly recommend that you change the warning date to much larger than the default 10 days until a fix is out.
