Reza RadCommented:
go to :
start
programs
microsoft sql server 2005 / 2008
Business Intelligence Development Studio
create new project
select project type as Integration Service Project
then OK

a project will be created, with a package file with .dtsx postfix
now from toolbox drag a DATA Flow TASK  and drop it on your package control flow
double click on it
add a oledb data source from toolbox, create a new connection to your ms sql server 2005 database and select data from the table you want
then add a excel data destination from toolbox and connect it to an excel file which you want to store results
remember you must connect datasource to datadestination before this.

then return to control flow tab
and add a send mail task
double click on it and configure it, set attachment as excel file.

RUN IT !

Reza RadCommented:
you must install Integration Service .
you must run sql server setup from dvd again, and select Integration Service from the list of services you want to install.

>>actually i have installed sql server 2005 developer edition in my machine<<
So no doubt you are aware tht the Developer Edition should not be used in a Production environment.

>>but still can't able to see the integration services in the sql 2005
where did you checked this?
go to :
start
programs
microsoft sql server 2005
configuration tools
sql server configuration manager
select sql server 2005 services in left
list of services will appear in right panel, you must have Integration Service in this list now. if you have not , then this service doesn't installed correctly

>>how do we create the integration services project using VS 2008??
this depends on do you have integration service 2008 ??
if you have Integration service 2005, then your development environment will be VS 2005 I think.

hi, i am getting some error when i try to use the excel file destination.
the error that i am getting is "external table is not the expected format". the error is attached and also attached the entire SSIS package in .zip file format. in that zip file, please remove the file extension .png from all the files in the zip files so you will get actual files extensions of the SSIS project. i was trying to create the new excel file with the data exported from sql table to this new excel file.

please help me on this.

SSISExportFromTabletoExcel.bmp
Copy-of-SSISExportFromTabletoExc.zip

you must select a sheet in the excel destination configuration in the Name of excel sheet section
