This is probably a pretty easy question, but Can I run one exchange server that houses users from two separate child domains in a forest?

    Accepted Solution

Ok now a bit more seriously just make sure to prepare both domain using the /PrepareAllDomains  and that's it.

if you want each domain to have a separate SMTP suffix i.e. etc... make sure to add the child domains to the accepted domains and create for each a different recipient address policy

As said above, you can. But run /PrepareAllDomains from the domain that you are running exchange 2007. That will prepare all child domains as well. Doesn't have to do it twice.
